So the Adventure begins

12/7/24. Today was the day. Suzanna and John were on board. They were coming  with us to Norway where we would take possession of the boat for VAT reasons. The boat was packed, the crew on board so we were off.  Timed the start to get down the canal in time for the bridge opening and out to sea.

First trip, a pleasant sail across the Baltic. Managed to sail a proportion of it and motor some, my first sail.  There was quite a lot of swell and the dark took a bit of getting used to.  Of course,  I had my tablet before we set off and spent the time lounging around whilst the sailors sailed. I did practice a few knots and Suzanna gave me lessons on tying up fenders and putting them away so easy to get them out again. Small things you need to know but important. Sailed into Stralsund (Germany). Moored up and walked into town for dinner.  This was easy, don’t know what all the fuss is about.

Stralsund is a pretty town with a lovely square of restaurants and old buildings.
